A good article, including the walk down memory lane with banking. I also remember Canada Trust having passbook updaters that you would use to sync your account book with any ATM transactions you might have made before online banking was a thing. I also remember being stuck behind someone who had 3 months of passbook updates to process across many pages (remove the book, turn the page, reinsert the book to resume printing) when all you wanted to do was take out $20 to hit the bar. We’ve come so far :-)

Wow! This will be a big challenge for the small investor as he or she tries to understand why certain stocks are being chosen by their investment advisor.

I to remember my little pass book that was updated when I put my earnings from sale's work at Eatons into my local TD bank. I rather liked this old fashion system.

Now online banking is so impersonal and it is easy to make a mistake and no one to say " Oh I don't think you mean to do that!
